[attr="class","ws-clearance"] [attr="class","clearance-title"]PACK & CLAN DYNAMICS [attr="class","clearance-header"]THE SNAKE PACK [attr="class","clearance-content"] - Fenrir: Up first is the Fenrir, which is basically our word for the "Male Alpha". When referring to the Fenrir IC, you can say "The Fenrir" or "[Insert Wolf Name]". Same when speaking to the Fenrir, calling them by name of Fenrir is both acceptable, though Fenir is normally more proper when speaking on official terms. The Fenrir can be replaced by the following means; Death (In which case the Heir, chosen from the Fenir and Rhea's litter, takes over.) Challenge (Any wolf can do this, though this needs to be approved by Admins to be successful. Won Challenges can be turned down if the majority of the pack are loyal to the original Fenrir.) and finally, Majority (If a majority of the pack is willing to change to a new Fenrir, then the Fenrir is replaced through lost loyalty.) Generally through both Challenge and Majority, the Fenrir, his mate, and his heir all leave the pack. This isn't a definite though, and any or all of these three may stay, or more than these three may be exiled.
- Rhea: Means "Female Alpha" and follows same naming traditions. Keep in mind that the one rising to become the leader of the pack can be male or female, and the Fenrir and Rhea are mates. One of the mates are the 'Higher leader', which means they are the one to have obtained the throne, and the other has gained position through mating. The mated leader cannot be challenged or changed through majority, though the 'Higher Leader' can demote them and take a new mate. A mate is not strictly required by law, but it appears to be a social law. Heirs can also be male or female.
- Romulus: Pretty simple, Romulus is the second strongest wolf in the clan. Second to the Fenrir. Only Remus may challenge Romulus. Romulus cannot be challenged, as you must go through Remus first. Both Romulus and Remus are also act as authority figures, under the Fenrir and Rhea. They are respected by the pack and will ensure peace in the pack.
- Remus: Third strongest wolf in clan. May be challenged by anybody.
- East:Personal guard to Rhea. Both East and West are the heads of all of the guards. Position not able to be challenged; chosen by Rhea.
- West: Personal guard to Fenrir. Also head of guards. Position not able to be challenged. Chosen by Fenrir.
- Bolverk: Head of Soldiers, Ensures rules are followed and will implement many of the punishments. All Soldiers must be trained by him, and he only takes on up to 3 squires at a time. Each takes about a year to train, sometimes longer.
- Bolverk's Squires: Up to three, these are the squired training to be Soldiers.
- Hunters: Well, this is pretty self explanatory. All hunters are expected to provide for the pack food wise. When battle is going, Hunters will be expected to provide supplies and be able to run injured from the battle field. Hunter generally have a basic knowledge of medicine.
- Scouts: Up to 2. Acting as messengers for the pack, the Squires are expected to have high endurance and speed. They also are extremely knowledgeable of the territory and the territories around them, sort of maps. Scouts are also used to 'scout' ahead and check for danger, ambushes and all sorts of things. Finally, Scouts are also brought in for strategics as they know of the lay of the land and pack relations. To become a scout, a squire must be trained by one. However, when their training is finished they will go to be a hunter, if a scout position becomes vacant then the oldest able hunter with training from the Scouts as a Squire will take the position.
- Soldiers: Acting as the ones to go into battle, Soldiers are always trained by Bolverk. When not in battle, Soldiers go on hunts with the Hunters, with always at least 1, normally 2, on every hunt to watch for predators such as bears.
- Guards: Up to 5. They are nearly always in or just around the camp, keeping the peace and generally protecting the camp from predators and making sure the pups don't leave camp. Their training is done the same as a Scouts.
- Dam: A wolf taking care of pups or pregnant. A she-wolf's mate is responsible for caring for her, though sometimes family members and the pack will assist.
- Squires: A pup becomes a squire as of 8 moons. To obtain a mentor, it is the responsibility of the parents. Sometimes parents will train all of their pups, or they will pass them on. When a pup is given to a mentor, the pup will often move in with said mentor. To move on to a position, they must pass the test of that position, or be trained by Bolverk to become Soldiers. Some pup's parents are neglectant and leave their pup to either figure it out on their own, or find their own mentor, which can happen but is rare as it is a daunting task for a young pup.
- Pups: From birth to 8 moons. Pups are not allowed to leave camp, though occasionally parents will be allowed to take them out; not far though.

[attr="class","ws-clearance"] [attr="class","clearance-title"]PACK & CLAN DYNAMICS [attr="class","clearance-header"]THE STORMSOUL PACK [attr="class","clearance-content"] - The Stormsoul Pack: forged from those who were chased out of their home in the Snake Pack to the south, the Stormsoul pack was rearranged by the new Alpha, Gabe, who wished to help the pack flow better and function more evenly than what he had born witness to in the previous pack. He also renamed the title of Alpha and the second-in-command because the names bore bad memories for all of them, both of betrayal and death. He also eliminated positions, merging the group together as a whole unit.
- Ulfric: Is the term the Stormsoul Pack's word for Alpha male, and like with the Fenrir in the Snake Pack, most packmates will either call him by name or by title. The Ulfric can be replaced by the following means; Death (In which case the Heir, chosen from the Ulfric's and Rhea's litter, takes over.), Challenge (Any wolf can do this, though this needs to be approved by Admins to be successful. Won Challenges can be turned down if the majority of the pack are loyal to the original Ulfric) and finally, Majority (If a majority of the pack is willing to change to a new Ulfric, then the Ulfric is replaced through lost loyalty.) Generally through both Challenge and Majority, the Ulfric, his mate, and his heir all leave the pack. This isn't a definite though, and any or all of these three may stay, or more than these three may be exiled.
- Rhea: Retained by the pack after their move, Rhea means "Female Alpha" and follows same naming traditions. Keep in mind that the one rising to become the leader of the pack can be male or female, and the Ulfric and Rhea are mates.
- Ranger: After watching the power struggle his previous pack faced, the first Ulfric, Gabe, abolished the positions of Remus and Romulus. He did not wish for someone who was only strong enough to dominate in battle to be his second in command, and thus created the rank of Ranger, which is a second-in-command that the High Leader (or both Ulfric and Rhea) pick to act as their second-in-command. Most of the time, Ranger's will be picked for not only their strength, but also based on their leadership and loyalty they show not only to their leader, but to the pack as well. Ranger could be male or female.
- Bolverk: Once known as the head of the soldiers, there are two Bolverks at any given time, each with the responsibility to make sure all squires are keeping up with their training. Since the move, the High Leader chooses who mentors what squires, but also has two senior knights keep an eye on all training. Bolverks can take up to two squires to train as their own, while most other knights only have one, and more often than not, squires trained by Bolverks grow up to take their place.
- Nurse: Known as the head or queen of the Dams, this is usually a senior Dam or an elder who makes sure that all of the dams and their pups are being cared for and looked after. They report to the Ranger and Alphas is there is any neglect or abuse being noted, and also help to relieve dams by pupsitting. They are responsible for the overall safety and care of the dams and pups and serve as a sort of overseer and protector.
- Knights: While once the pack was divided by specialty, the Stormsoul pack, due to the chaos of their move and the adjustment of their new numbers, merged all subcategories into one, called the knights, as suggested by one of the dogs, who explained that knights were a special class of fighters and workers. While many characters may still branch off and generally only preform duties they are good at, they are not required to only preform those specific jobs and may be assign to a task at will by the Ranger or the Alphas. Major jobs include hunting, fighting, guarding, patrols and scouting.
- Squires: A pup becomes a squire as of 8 moons, when the High Leader chooses a mentor for them and they begin training to become a knight. Once squires and their parents were required to find a mentor on their own, but the first Ulfric witnessed how dysfuntional this could be in a pack. Squires also train as a group with the Bolverks, and then individually with their mentors.
- Dams: A wolf taking care of pups or pregnant. A she-wolf's mate is responsible for caring for her, though often times family members and the pack will assist.
- Pups: From birth to 8 moons. Pups are not allowed to leave camp, though occasionally parents will be allowed to take them out; not far though.
- Elders: Generally made up of those who are older than ~70-80 moons, knights retire when they are no longer to preform their duties to the pack. Having spent their lives devoted to the welfare of the pack, they are now able to relax and allow those younger to continue on making it function without them while they take a hard earned break.

[attr="class","ws-clearance"] [attr="class","clearance-title"]PACK & CLAN DYNAMICS [attr="class","clearance-header"]THE WISE WOLVES [attr="class","clearance-content"] - Wise Wolves: One other thing you need to realize about the Wise Wolves is that they are neutral. Refuse to get caught up in pack rivalries, they simply act as the awesome monks that are great at healing and kicking butt if attacked. However, they don't react well to a Wise Wolf leaving and swearing loyalty to a pack. This is considered treason, sharing the information with outsiders. The consequence is that the Wise Wolves will come after you and kill you, so you better run quickly. Some other things that must be noted in regards to Wise Wolves is that they have the ability to see glimpses of the Heavens and communicate with the Gods. The Gods are from the old Norse Mythology, and occasionally the deceased come to talk to the Wise Wolves as well. The Wise Elders instill the belief that if you loose the position of neutrality you will loose the ability to communicate with the heavens, though several Wise Wolves who have joined a pack or left the Mountains has proven this to be false.
- Wise Elders: Unlike many of the other packs within the forest, the Wise Wolves do not have a central leader in charge. Instead, they have a trio of the older members who have been chosen by the Gods, who have spoken to the remaining two Elders to choose the last one's replacement acting as a council, constantly turning to and conversing with the stars. They lead the Wise Wolves. An Elder can be declared senile by 2/3's vote of both the Elders and the Wise Wolves. Finally, the Wise Elders are also the instructors of medicine to the Wise Pups.
- Wise Yarrow: Instructor of Defense and Battle, chosen by the Wise Elders. Also in charge of battle strategies and defense strategies.
- Wise Eagle: Instructor of hunting. Chosen by the Wise Elders.
- Wise Watcher: The one wolf that lives up with the Wise Pups and watches over them. Chosen by Wise Elders.
- Wise Wolves: Fully trained Wise Pups gain this title. Once 'graduated', Wise Wolves move down the mountain to live in the Spirit Caverns with the rest of the group.
- Wise Pups: Once a pup turns 8 moons, they can become a Wise Pup. Of course, they must be checked by the Wise Elders, who will confer with the stars to see if they are suitable to undertake the learning. Pups who were born into the Wise Wolves but are deemed unworthy go straight to become a Star Gazer. Wise Pups live on the mountain on Barren Hollow with the Wise Watcher, and to graduate every Wise Pup must complete their training by climbing to Cloud's Peak and bathing in it's mist. Once a moon, all of the Wise Wolves, except the Star Gazers, will travel to Barren Hollow and their the Wise Elder's will teach the history of the forest, their stories filling the night and feeding the spirits of all who attend.
- Star Gazers: These are wolves that were born into the clan but never became Wise Wolves. They live just outside of the Spirit Caverns and do not attend the meeting every moon with the Wise Pups up in the Barren Hollow and are forbidden from venturing to Cloud Peak.

[attr="class","ws-clearance"] [attr="class","clearance-title"]PACK & CLAN DYNAMICS [attr="class","clearance-header"]THE WARRIOR CLANS [attr="class","clearance-content"] - Clan Leader: The Clan Leader rules the Clan and is charged with the responsibility to watch over and manage an entire Clan, maintaining discipline, order, and protection. Leaders are normally granted nine lives and a new name with the ending "-star" (e.g. Firestar, Bluestar) in a ceremony where nine StarClan cats come to them in a dream at the Moonstone. However, a leader may not receive all nine lives if the previous leader of his or her Clan is still alive; in this instance, a leader will have a life taken off the original total of nine for every life the previous leader still possesses. Sometimes StarClan will not accept a leader (e.g. Nightstar), if this happens then the Clan is usually thrown into turmoil.
- Deputy: The Deputy of the Clan organizes patrols and keeps the Clan in order and is the second-in-command to the leader, and may be considered an apprentice to the art of leading the Clan. They serve in the leader's place in situations where the leader is unable to fulfill their duties. They are in charge of organizing patrols and they are often called on by the leader for advice, but other than that, they retain the normal duties of a warrior. To become a deputy, a cat must have trained at least one apprentice. They have regular warrior names. Upon the leader's death, they become the leader and go to the Moonstone so Starclan can grant them nine lives. Deputies may also retire and give up their place as deputy if they wish.
- Medicine Cat: The Medicine Cat is the closest cat to StarClan, the Clan’s warrior ancestors and serves the Clan as both their spiritual leader and healer, making them akin to the idea of a 'medicine man' in a tribal society, gathering herbs and dispensing them as an apothecary would. They handle diagnosis and treatment of both illness and injury for all the cats in the Clan. They can predict prophecies by reading signs and in addition to their responsibilities to their Clan, they have responsibility to one another and StarClan. The Medicine cats and their apprentices meet every half-moon to carry out their responsibilities to StarClan, coming together to discuss matters privately and share dreams with StarClan. In their role as spiritual leader, they teach the code, interpret omen and prophecy, and generally serve the Clan as a conduit between the earthly cats and their ghostly counterparts. As a medicine cat, they are not allowed to have a mate or kits, but this rule has been broken by certain medicine cats. Medicine cats also exist outside of typical Clan rivalries in order to treat all cats fairly.
- Medicine Cat Apprentice: The Medicine Cat apprentice is the cat that is being trained to follow in the pawsteps of the medicine cat, learning healing and spiritual lore from the medicine cat. Medicine cat apprentices also accompany their mentors in their visit to the Moonstone every half-moon to receive dreams from StarClan. A Medicine Cat doesn’t necessarily have to die for the apprentice to become a full Medicine Cat; usually, they finish their training before their mentors join StarClan. Frequently, a medicine cat apprentice who has full training will be given a warrior name; however, medicine cat apprentices remain apprentices even when fully trained so long as the current medicine cat is still practicing the arts. At the time the old medicine cat either dies or steps down, the medicine cat apprentice becomes a full medicine cat, somewhat like the leader/deputy relationship. When the apprentice becomes the full medicine cat then she/he can have an apprentice of their own.
- Elder: Once a warrior becomes too old to continue fighting and protecting their Clan, they have the option of becoming an elder. Elders usually tell kits stories, and are frequently groomed and checked for ticks by warrior apprentices. Elders are taken care of by the whole Clan, and are given respect for the time they have served as warriors. They are responsible for taking the body of a dead cat out to be buried. Some cats don't become an elder only because of old age; if there is ever a condition which prevents the cat from fulfilling their duties to their Clan, it usually leads to the cat's decision of retiring.
- Queen: Queens are she-cats that are expecting or nursing kits. If a female warrior is expecting kits, they join the queens in the Nursery. Their primary task during this time is the raising of their kits, and some queens stay in the nursery after they have kits to assist other queens with their pregnancies or kits, acting as a sort of mid-wife. They most often help other queens when no milk is available, or when the mother is ill/dead. Kits are protected from attacks and the nursery is often situated at the back of the camp, away from the entrance.
- Senior Warrior: These warriors are older than most, and are close to joining the Elder’s den and are generally allowed to sleep in the center of the warriors's den, where it is warmest. Senior warriors are often referred to for advice and called on to assist younger warriors in tasks or in leading patrols or hunting parties.
- Warrior: A warrior is a cat trained in the arts of fighting and hunting. Warriors make up the bulk of a Clan, and provide that Clan with the protection and food supply that keeps it safe and well-fed. Typically, a cat is made a warrior at or over the age of twelve moons. In their oath to become a warrior, they promise to "uphold the warrior code and protect and defend their Clan, even at the cost of their life." Warrior dens are very often near the front of the Clan, where they can protect the rest of their Clan from attacks. Warriors are often given tasks best suited for their abilities, but are trained to know all trades in case they are needed.
- Apprentice: An apprentice is a cat in training to become a warrior. Their names end in the word "-paw" (e.g. Tawnypaw, Bramblepaw, Firepaw etc) to signify the "path their paws are now on". One exception to this is Boulder who opted to keep his loner name upon joining ShadowClan, and becoming an apprentice, and Egg, who kept his name upon joining SkyClan. Most usually are at or over the age of six moons. They have a mentor appointed to them at their ceremony and most days are taken out battle training or hunting. They are also given the task of cleaning out bedding and removing Elders' ticks and fleas. Apprentices are not allowed to have a mate or kits, likely because of their young age or not to interrupt their training.
- Kit: A kit is a cat who has not been made an apprentice yet. Their names always end in "-kit" (e.g. Dovekit, Lionkit, Blossomkit). Most often, they are under the age of six moons, though sometimes they are held back from being an apprentice for a certain amount of time, sometimes due to injury or misbehaving. They stay in the camp and are forbidden to leave it, unless accompanied by an older cat, such as a warrior, a medicine cat, or any kind of apprentice.
[attr="class","clearance-header"]THE WARRIOR CODE [attr="class","clearance-content"]Also, outside of normal rules you might encounter among other clans, tribes or packs, the Warriors have a special code they live by, as follows. Breaking any of these rules can result in punishment or banishment. - Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from the other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
- Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
- Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.
- Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
- A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
- Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
- A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
- The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires.
- After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosenbefore moonhigh.
- A gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
- Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
- No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from a different Clan.
- The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.
- An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense.
- A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
