Sitting just outside of the clan's camp are several large mounds that make up little hills. Should you dig too deep you find large bones but usually the cats leave them be. Kits play on the hills and in the dirt and in a shallow dip nearby you'll find where the cats bury their own dead when they head to Starclan. The dirt of the mounds is thick and clay-like, and should the swamp or a river flood into the area, will become very sticky and easy to get stuck in and is a favored training spot for apprentices and their mentors.

Much of the south of Shadowclan is filled with shallow swamps and overflowing rivers from the river basin to the west. unless it has been raining the water is rarely deep enough to need to swim through and the swampland forest is filled with fish and frogs and all sorts of prey for the clan cats to catch. It's one of the main hunting grounds until leafbare when it becomes to cold for the frogs and lizards and other reptiles that live there.

A large cyprus tree that finds up well above the rest of the sparse forest and is a common home for snakes, many of which are nonvenomous and can potentially be eaten if caught. The tree is often used as a source of dares for apprentices and young warriors, but is generally avoided for safety reasons.

The remnants of an old dump from the twolegs to the west, the infertile land is void of greenery. The only animals that inhabit the place are large rats and crows. Despite all of this, during leaf-fall and leafbare when the swamp freezes over this becomes a good place to hunt for rats so the clan won't go hungry. Warriors also need to be careful what rats they catch in case any should have any sicknesses.
