Star Gazers do not sleep in the Spirit Caverns with the Wise Wolves but rather sleep in the small caves and hollows that sit on the outside of the mountain by the entrance to the caverns. Some of the hollows are under large trees while others are placed all up and down the side of the mountain like little apartments. The ones higher off the ground or usually taken by strong wolves without pups since there is less worry of a fall, while the elders and dams with pups will usually reside in the hollows of trees or in the caves at the foot of the mountain, closer to the entrance to the Spirit Caverns.

On one of the low lying plateaus you will find a small garden where the Wise Wolves have always cultivated their herbs for healing. More recently the Wise Elder Merlin expanded it to include various type of fruits and vegetables and now all Wise Pups are given a basic training in regards to the growth of herbs and crops. While not very good tasting, especially compared to a rabbit or some deer or moose, the vegetables prevent the canines from dying from starvation in particularly harsh winters.
