I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose Fire away, fire away, Ricochet you take your aim, Fire away, fire away You shoot me down, But I won't fall I am titanium Once another clan cat at a gathering asked why they would make their camp so close to water, wouldn't they drown? No, they were on an island, and only once before in Ivystar's 32 moons of life had they ever had it rain hard enough for them to have to move to higher ground. The camp was settled on the second higest part of the "island, created by three rivers meeting together and diverging, and the only reason they weren't at the highest was because the shrubbery and rocks in the camp offered them the shelter and den space necessary for a proper camp.
But it had been raining for four days in a row, hardly any lags in between the storms and the water from the rivers were rising, pressing closer and closer to their camp. Her pelt was eternally wet and she was paws deep in water, the rain bringing too much rain down too quickly for it to drain off and towards the rivers. She could see her sisters with the other apprentices, trying to reinforce one of the nursery walls, tying more reeds and branches into it. This was futile, the elders and kits would get sick if they didn't get dry soon, and luckily with this weather knew one place in their territory that would be nice and dry.
She made the leap into the old willow tree that sat a top the leader's den and yowled to her clan. "Let all cats old enough to swim gather to hear my words!" With most of the cats already in the camp, what with it in between patrols, most of the cats in camp trying to keep them afloat.
"My clanmates! The camp is flooded and the waters are still rising! We must leave camp and go north to the Twoleg Boatplace! It will be safe and dry there! Apprentices, help the queens and their kits, warriors, help the elders! Leave no cat behind and tread carefully!"
She hopped from the limb, landing in the clearing in the soaked reeds, a loud splash reminded them of how bad the flood had become. She turned and caught eye of her father, one of the younger toms in the elder's den and he nodded, moving to help his den mates. They'd need to work together to make sure they all go to safety.

I’m setting fire to the life that I know Let's start a fire everywhere that we go
She absolutely despised storms, so the last few days had kept her tense and a little jumpy, but Silverfang was doing her best to shove away the distaste of storms and do her job. More than once, someone had asked why they hadn't moved yet, and she'd only reply that Ivystar knew what was best, she'd give the word when it came down to it, but until then they were best off in camp. Moving elders and kits would be difficult, and if they could put it off, they should. Even so, when Ivystar gave the order, it had been so anticipated that it was quickly that Silverfang was heading toward the apprentice's den, intending to make sure that they had all heard and everyone was out. Going to the boatplace was equally distasteful to the she-cat as the storm itself was, but it was the best place for them to go. "Run along to the nursery, make sure they're getting along." She ordered two apprentices she found in the apprentice's den, having been making a poor attempt to fix their walls that was crumbling with the constant force of the rain. They gave an odd look at how the deputy's tail was held very carefully between her legs, curled up against her stomach. It made for a bit difficult to balance, but it remained as dry as it could be there. The older cats were more used to the way she always kept her tail dry, but a few of the younger ones still found it odd. Her eyes flickered to the sky as she waded through the soaked grounds, sending a quick plea to starclan that they end this soon. Then she was scanning the camp once more, keeping an eye out for anyone who looked like they needed a job, and if they did she'd tell them one. Thankfully, most of them all seemed to be doing their part. At least that seemed to be going well. After a moment, Silverfang caught sight of one young apprentice struggling out of the nursery, clearly having a difficult time holding the kit. Hurrying over, she took the kit from the apprentice, telling them to go and see if the medicine cat needed any help instead with carrying supplies, more suitable for the small cats size. With the kit now in her jaw, mewling for it's mother, Silverfang took a few steps into camp before locating an older apprentice to pass it off to. LAIKA OF GS!

bad little boy That's what I'm acting like you really don't buy i'm that kinda guy and if i am, why you do hang out with me?
He hated this. He loved water, he was a Riverclan cat, after all, had grown up with it, but the constant drip drop or thundering pour of water from the sky above was beyond tiresome. He missed the sun, and a warm dry bed to curl up in. He spat in annoyance and ducked out of the way when his father tried to talk to him.
After all, his dear older sister had commanded that the apprentices should be helping the queens. His father was an elder now, after all.
Switching from scornful to helpful he approached one of the queen, flicking his tail in greeting, grasping the mewling kit in his maw. A few other apprentices followed him and he turned to follow the line of cats making their way from camp. They'd have to swim across the river to get to the Boatplace, but no one was objecting. He could feel the waters rising and it made his belly churn anxiously.
Sure he was pretty rude to his clanmates a majority of the time, but that didn't mean he wanted any of them to die or get hurt.

Her eyes followed any and all movement, trying to run a list through her head of all her clanmates, accounting for each and every one. Her brother, Iceflash, was helping their father and some other of the elders towards the camp entrance, deeper into the water. She feared for the elders and kits, most of all, who would not be able to swim off the island. She waited for the camp to clear, helping along any who needed her. It was times like these she felt that perhaps the island was a horrible idea for a camp, but also remembered these kinds of floods happened maybe once every lifetime and that the safety it provided outweighed the risks.
She watched as some warrior tried to help the kits and shook her head at them, "The kits who are old enough to ride your back should, the higher from the water, the better!" She yowled, turning and stepping into the rising river. Luckily for them, the flood was steady and slow and there was little current to push or move them around or make if difficult to get through the water. She helped guide some fo the elders towards the closest bit of land were she could see some oft he clan cats already shaking water from their fur. | Notes: notes Tags: @name Words: 260 |
